When I arrived on Koh Phangan nearly five years ago I began visually documenting the life cycles around me, both human and nature.

The stories told by these cycles are ‘Crystal Island.’

My 5 topics of investigation:

• Transformation

• Cycles

• Heart

• Ecology

• Medicine

I discovered that nature effortlessly engages the mind, invigorating it without wearing it down. It both soothes and enlivens, harnessing the mind's influence over the body to grant the rejuvenating effects of rest and revitalisation upon the entire system. I believe this can lead to an awakening as the soul begins to peer through the veil, the mind is set free.

Our bodies move in ways we can’t imagine if we learn to access the places that were unavailable to us before trying. Ecstatic dance and especially contact dance can optimise levels of trust, spacial awareness and respect for the human condition.

Community values are very different to that of my own western upbringing, in Thailand and Asia there are dozens of events throughout the year that are celebrated in amazing fashion and with intension.

As conscious inhabitants of earth our speech and actions create ripples that spread out like shockwaves to all those around us, touching the lives of others and shaping the future.
